Poor Chad DiMera is still wearing his heart on his sleeve, especially when it comes to “Abigail.”
In the Days of Our Lives episode, Chad couldn’t help but get lost in the memories of their past together.
He even went so far as to recite one of their wedding vows, hoping to stir something within her that might bring back the love they once shared. Sadly, that didn’t happen—and it probably never will.
However, what Chad’s heartfelt words did trigger were emotions in Fake Abby, also known as FAbby.
It seems she’s starting to develop real feelings for Chad, and now she might be regretting the choices she’s made, especially those involving Clyde Weston.
But why does Clyde have such an obsession with Salem and its residents in the first place?
A Sentimental Trip Down Memory Lane
Chad arrived at the DiMera mansion armed with a photo album. His goal was to help reignite “Abby’s” memories by showing her pieces of their past.
Of course, this tactic is a familiar one in the world of soap operas, but it rarely works. Soap characters often lose their memories and only regain them at the most convenient—and dramatic—times.
Still, that didn’t stop Chad, who was determined to reconnect with the woman he believes to be his wife. He walked her through the highlights of their relationship, even recalling the three times they got married.
In a deeply emotional moment, Chad recited one of his vows, every word dripping with love and nostalgia. These words might not have restored any lost memories, but they certainly tugged at the cold heart of FAbby.
Despite herself, she couldn’t help but be moved by Chad’s sincerity, and you could see her beginning to fall for him.
Before this touching scene, FAbby had been skillfully dodging the lies she’s been spinning. She confessed to lying to Stephanie and admitted that Steve was also suspicious.
Despite a DNA test proving otherwise, Chad should probably be just as skeptical, but he’s too distracted by FAbby’s beauty, her infectious humor, and the overwhelming relief of having “Abigail” back in his life.
His defenses are down when, in reality, he should be putting up walls to protect himself. Chad is falling right into her trap, and it’s only a matter of time before it all comes crashing down.
Clyde’s Endless Obsession with Salem
As for Clyde Weston, it seems he just can’t quit Salem. No matter how many times he ends up in jail or faces defeat, he always returns, obsessed with wreaking havoc on the town and its residents.
This time, Clyde has sent Mark and FAbby to scam Chad and his powerful DiMera family. His goal appears to be revenge, perhaps with the hope of scoring some DiMera fortune along the way.
It’s all part of Clyde’s grand plan to free himself from the consequences of his many misdeeds.
But why does Clyde hold such a grudge against Salem and its people? Time and again, his schemes land him behind bars, yet he can’t seem to walk away.
His latest plot, using FAbby to manipulate Chad and his loved ones, is just another attempt to seize control and secure his freedom. What he doesn’t seem to realize, however, is that his plans are likely to backfire once again.
In the end, it’s only a matter of time before the truth comes to light—about both FAbby’s deception and Clyde’s involvement.
Chad’s emotional vulnerability could be his undoing, and if Clyde isn’t careful, his obsession with Salem may lead to yet another stint in jail.
Whether or not Chad will figure out the truth in time remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure: Clyde’s never-ending reign of trouble in Salem is far from over.
